EVENTS ARCHIVES 2000:
December 8, 2000: Entertainment Weekly advises fans of the new PJ Harvey album to pick up "New York City fave Elk City's recent debut 'status'."
December 1-7 2000: Elk City travels to France to meet the people at Talitres records who will release 'status' there in March 2001. Their trip is kindly funded by a photography and film festival in Cherbourg where they play a rousing three-hour set.
November 25, 2000: UK label, Earworm Records releases Elk City's "Freeze Two Over Eight" as a 7" single. The B-side features a non-album exclusive track, "Judori".
October 25, 2000: Elk City plays the CMJ festival in New York and, in a piece of good timing, receives glowing reviews for "status" in Magnet and Puncture magazines.
July-October, 2000: Elk City plays shows in support of "status," turning up often in New York and traveling to Chicago and Boston.
June 15, 2000: 'status' reaches #74 on the CMJ college music charts.
June 6, 2000: Parasol/Hidden Agenda records releases Elk City's debut LP, "status".
